The style of counseling or coaching  varies from client to client based on client needs however the science-based approach for each specialty area will remain consistent. 
Weight Management
Whether its trying lose weight or trying to gain weight or muscle mass my approach is consistent. For life long changes that are sustainable diet, exercise and overall wellness all play a role in body weight. Changes are made based on readiness and can be made slow or fast. I believe food is fuel and that all foods can fit. I believe that exercise is crucial for a healthy lifestyle but should be enjoyable. I believe that sleep, mood, social support, and overall wellbeing play a role in weight management. I will suggest or refer clients to appropriate professionals to handle other areas of wellness. 
Disordered Eating
Struggling with food can take over your life. If eating disordered behaviors have taken control of your life its time to work through the struggles that have led you to this place and to find a different way to live. I will be your guide and help support you and encourage you. Your eating disorder has served a purpose in your life. It is a disease, not a choice. Over time it has become a large part of your life and it may feel like you can't imagine your life without it. But it has started to take things from you - friendships, family, opportunities. This disease has left you lonely and tired. Let's work together to lessen to power food has.
Medical Nutrition Therapy
Medical Nutrition Therapy is the term for using nutrition as medicine. Changing your diet for health or for medical reasons can seem daunting. Diabetes, food allergies, heart disease, kidney disease or obesity all have strong medical need for nutrition changes. These changes are often much easier to make with guidance. I will work with your treatment team to provide knowledge based nutrition information in a way you can understand and actually use at home. I will work with you and  your support system so all parties have  tools and knowledge to help you be the healthiest version of you.
